I've now been back to school for 2 days which means our time is winding down. We still have a lot to do in our last week.
Friday is Sophomore orientation day. It is from 8:30 until 11:45. I would love for all of our German exchange students to attend. If you aren't staying with a Sophomore and need a ride to school, let me know and we can work something out. During this morning, we can get Prairie ID cards made for the exchange students. (Thanks to Judy in the school store for making this possible). Kids can also check out the Fan Stand for prairie wear. Friday at 4:30 is the Marching Band show and right after that is the football game. Great time to see a typical Friday night.
Frau Bürklen and I would like to have a farewell party. I thought that we could have a potluck at Walford Park starting at 3:00. Bring a dish to share, table service, and any games you would like to play in the park. We can share stories and get some great pictures.
Monday all students should attend school. It will not be a normal day since we always start the year with High School 101, but they will have a chance to see the school full of students. They can eat lunch on your Prairie Child's account. I'll let Judy know that they will be coming.
Frau Bürklen and I will make a schedule for the students to spend time with me in my classes. My German 1 students are always excited to meet actual Germans!
I'm not going to say anything yet about Wednesday other than it looks like we should be at the airport at 9:00. If I say much more I might get a little weepy.
